Meta announced an enterprise AI platform aimed at letting businesses deploy Meta's AI stack for their own products. The company brought in Chirantan "CJ" Desai, who was CEO of MongoDB, to lead the new initiative. MongoDB appointed Dev Ittycheria as interim CEO while it searches for a permanent replacement.

Meta has been burning through compute capacity on first-party products like Muse, its consumer AI agent. Adding an enterprise channel gives the company a second customer for that infrastructure. For developers, this matters because Meta's open-weight models (Llama) already run in many companies. An enterprise support layer on top of those models is a natural next step.
